The Gourmet Factory has been importing fine European delicacies to American markets for more than three decades. It all began in 1969 while Aristidis Kangadis and his wife Andromahi left Greece for a new life in America. The family quickly fell in love with their new home. However, they yearned for the rich traditional foods of their native Greece.
The Kangadis family began importing olives, olive oil, spices and cheeses, which they shared with friends and neighbors. Soon, the family was fielding requests for these fine foods from local merchants and restaurateurs. The Gourmet Factory was founded to meet the growing demand for Mediterranean specialties.
Today, The Gourmet Factory is a leading importer of olive oil, olives, cheeses, tomaotes, capers, peppers, spices and other European delicacies. The company markets and distributes such outstanding brands as: Capatriti, Messina, Olio Villa, Lakonia, Zorba, Traditional and Mama's Choice.
Family owned and operated, The Gourmet Factory is renowned for its high quality products and its impeccable customer service. Quality control is a priority in the company's Plant, a 75, 000 square foot OU certified facility featuring state-of-the-art packing equipment. Corporate headquarters are located in Glendale, NY.
