INTRODUCTORY LETTER

Background
Mtalimanja Hoilding Limited, is a holding company that among other entities, owns the largest Rice plant in both Malawi and Southern Africa. The plant/factory is based in Nkhotakota, at Mpamantha, but has its secretariat in Lumbadzi at Blessings Hospital Campus, but the construction of permanent business premises is under in Area 14, opposite Assembles of God Campus. We specialise in Rice processing, packaging, sales and marketing and delivery.
We work directly with farmers through cooperatives to increase production of the raw materials (paddy) to feed the factory. To do this, we build capacity in these farmers through provision of inputs, warehousing, transport and logistics and Rice schemes development. After primary production, we buy the paddy rice from these cooperatives and other farmers at a good price, better than vendors. This is in the fulfilment of our vision of creating chain that benefits every player. It is for this reason that the government of Malawi has presented its interest to adopt the project as a national, especially, by helping in developing farmerâ€™s capacity to produce more paddy.
Our capacity
In order to run the factory in one shift, the factory needs 1000 tons of paddy rice per Month. This translate into production capacity of about 500 tons of processed rice per Month, assuming full operation. We have well skilled labor force trained by Chinese engineers who installed the plant and had run the first production. We have an operational irrigation scheme of 2000 hectors for our primary producers. We also have trucks of different tonnages for timely deliveries to our valued customers
