started dealing with the production of and trade in vegetable oils in 1991. At the beginning of 1995 I bought up the land situated 5 kilometres from the centre of the town of Vidin, in the vicinity of the border checkpoint at the Vidin Ferryboat. My aim was to build a modern European enterprise. I have managed to achieve that for a period of 16 years, through reinvesting the profit. The raw materials I buy up for the production needs of the enterprise is from areas in the vicinity of Vidin â€“ from the regions of Vidin, Montana, and Pleven. For the future, with the construction of the new bridge, I see enormous potential, as the bridge will facilitate our purchasing of raw materials from Rumania and the placement of our output in that large country.

The enterprise employs 80 people. In addition to the production facilities, the Company has constructed a modern administrative building for working meetings with potential customers. 20 % of the output of OLIMEX OOD is sold in Bulgaria; 80 % of the output is exported to the countries from the Balkan Peninsula â€“ Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, and two European Union countries â€“ Rumania and Greece. The prospects of OLIMEX OOD are connected with the Euroregion, where the production facilities of the enterprise are located â€“ when the Danube Bridge 2 is put in operation, the output of OLIMEX OOD will be directed to European markets and will cover the larger parts of Rumania and neighbouring Serbia.
