I ordered the newer model of an SWG 10KW off-grid charge controller along with a dump load for my customer's wind turbine from a person called John Chen from a manufacturer called "SAIP ELECTRIC GROUP COMPANY LIMITED", but instead received a cheaper older model worth less than 1/3 in value to what I paid. This controller was to be ordered by SAIP from another manufacturer (called SWG) on my behalf to be shipped along with some wind turbines I ordered from SAIP. I found out after my customer received his order what had happened, and brought it up with John from SAIP when he contacted me to offer some new products they were selling. My customer was able to make due with the older model, but when I asked SAIP why he sent the wrong one he claimed that the newer model would not have been compatible with the older turbine anyway. So then I asked him if this was true then why wasn't I informed about this upfront and where is the additional money I paid. In fact I was never told this information, and was told all along that my order was billing filled as requested. The total cost of the newer model controller along with a dump load was $1,943.00 USD. The difference in price between the older model and the newer model I paid for was $1,421.00 USD. When I asked for the extra money back, he claimed the amount owing was different (only $1,112 USD) and said he'd only be willing to offer a credit in that amount on my next order with their company. Why would I order from them again? I was overcharged and did NOT receive the item I ordered. There were many instances prior to my order being shipped, where he could have told me that a different model was being sent and why. Also, I paid a deposit of 30% of the invoice upfront when the order was placed, and only payed the balance upon completion of the item being manufactured as required by the payment terms. The balance of the invoice was only paid just prior to my ordered being shipped. At this point the manufacturer already knew which item was being shipped, and still requested the full balance be paid. The cost of the older model was only $522 USD, which means it was already more than paid for with the initial amount I paid when placing the order. Based on 30% of the total cost of $1,943.00 USD for the controller & dumpload being $582.90, means that a surplus of $60.90 USD already existed. This company has also shown to provide poor quality products, and doesn't honour their warranty. I've witnessed this through the business they've done with Evolve Green... a business associate of mine. They simply cannot be trusted! BE CAREFUL!
